Doesn't really afford you the opportunity to bond, but the price was about 15% below the lowest of used 48 on Reverb.  I've always wanted one.  Have priced out building something like one, or the copies and the needed upgrades.  This made financial sense.  If we don't bond, I can get my investment back.

Ric 360/12

ooo!!! I had one of those in Jetglow!    A nice guitar indeed.

I did have some trouble with the 12 strings with the narrow neck mind you...

USED is always the way to go. Let someone else take the hit of depreciation. In over 40 years, and hundreds of axes - I think I bought 2 that were brand new. And got both of them for less than wholesale.

I've wanted one for a while.  And the facts are facts, nothing quite sounds like a Ric. Even my non guitar wife knows how I feel abou Ric necks. Oddly, after a recent injury to my 3rd finger on my left hand, I seem to be through it.
I thought about building a 12 string Mooncaster.  Was a bit more than I payed for this.

Agreed.  The few new I bought are all hard to find (Duesenberg, White Falcon center blocked). I happened into this.

Bu-Bu-Bubinga! Nobody else uses it for fret boards but Ricky. Then, all those sexy body curves! So very nice!

VERY nice! I've wanted a Ric since I first saw Lennon playing his 325, I was 8. Sooo jealous......  :icon_biggrin:

I actually used to have a little collection of Ricks.  I had a 620FG, the 360/12JG, and a 350 in turquoise!  The 620 was my main guitar for the better part of a decade.  I wore out 3 sets of frets on it.

But I gotta say, I got my first warmoth telecaster about 10 years ago and it was game over.  Sold all the Ricks.

FYI. Restringing this thing is like a pinned Bigsby x10. This set of strings will just be a learning experience of best practices. LOL
Oh and the videos are wrong.

Yeeeaaaah.  I always wanted to put a set of some kind of locking tuners on the rick 12 to make stringing the thing not an exercise in insanity.

I may look into that.  Until then, I figured out this restringing thing.  My triangle eraser that works well with Bigsby does ok here, but the capo works better at keeping the strings from exploding from the tailpiece.
Getting the length of the string right is crucial. Appears 3 finger lengths past the post is the best solution when they are capo ed at the 12 fret.

This set was a learning experience. I have a new set on order.

Update, the next restringing went much better (the 1st was a trial run and ended up being the wrong gauge).
Made a new patch for it that sounded
good at home.  Just back from rehearsal. It sat very well in the mix and filled in areas quite well. I think it's a keeper. I may swap the higains for toasters, but this patch compensates for that.
Going to try another set of longer lasting strings in the next month.

Bought two ricks back in 94 when I was single and making good money a mapleglow 360 12 string and a 620 fireglow the red sunburst like finish. I liked them both but the 360 was more effort then I wanted to put in and I did not use it much being a 12 string and all. Kept the 620 for a while should have never sold it off. But sometimes one falls on hard times and having good guitars will not pay your bills. When I had cash again I got into the warmoth thing.
