Unplanned addition to the family !

We were in GC pickiing up a case for a bass I'm building and came across this beauty , Mint '59 Gretsch 6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman  Flamed maple neck/ebony  flamed maple front / back  TV jones supertron/  classic plus and a sublime bigsby .. plays like a dream .

That is a nice guitar. I have felt myself drawn to the Gretsch G6122 DC models for some time. Like the Chet Atkins or even the Falcon, if I could find an early 70's or late 60's model at a price I could afford. The Falcons run around $2500.00 on eBay, so a little out of my price range. Maybe one day. Or perhaps Warmoth will make a similar body and neck and I can build my own

What do you mean? You can still custom order one on the site, and the information page for them is still up. It's just called the LP5S now

Hard to believe now, but when I was a young buck you could not give one of those away.
