University: An excuse to test out guitar kits :D

Well just today was browsing the web looking at cheap bass guitar kits for another project that i could learn assembly on better and eventually upgrade components into a mean halfmoth someday  :headbang1:
I have a few candidates which i have contacted to discuss certain aspects,
mainly the neck pocket dimensions for if a warmoth neck will slot in there one day.
However the fun part of this is, that i will be documenting up to a point the assembly of the chosen kit as a Unit project  :icon_biggrin:
It will likely be a jazz bass(As i was thinking music man or jazz), as these are most readily avaliable for the 100-150 pounds im willing to spend long as
i find somewhere with a neck pocket either the same size, or a bit smaller that a professional could work on to get the warmoth to fit later on a few years from now.
So basically ill keep you guys posted in this topic.  :toothy10:

Month old necropost but worth while,  The bass is playing nicely now, havent got the headstock fully done, but its working out nicely.
Just thinking, would it be good to do the headstock front in the red or purple whichever colour i choose, or a bit much?

Wayyyy back in the day, when I was one of those young fools who participated in recreational intake of... stuff... a buddy and I once found a combination of items at Taco Bell that totalled 6.66.  We called it the "Evil Meal" and went back to order it the next day.  State tax had gone up *that day* and it was now 6.68.  Divine intervention?

Andd now its gone hehe, anyways here are pictures of it.
So questions,
once ive got the headstock done its messy now but it will get alot better, i couldn't afford a jigsaw, till i realised the supermarket has one for a tenner ,  :doh:
but once thats done i will be doing the colour on the thing once it gets warmer constantly or well constantly as possible in england
Well considering about masking the back and sides,(fretboard of course) off and doing the front of the headstock in the same colour as the body,
What are your guys thoughts on such a thing? im personally thinking it might help it,
BUT, there is a possibility i will in a year or so exchange the neck for a warmoth, i measured the neck pocket and its the right size, possibly a bit smaller, but better than too big at all
By the looks of the bridge do you think i should exchange it for a gotoh 201 for instance, or possibly pointless move?
Anddd, pick up upgrades  :toothy10: suggestions?
