Unique Laminate Top availability and selection

I've noticed that not all laminate tops are available for all the basic choices.  Looking through for example the '72 thinlines you will find Rosewood not otherwise available for strats or some of the other models.  Has it always been like this?

I'm still hoping one day Warmoth will be able to more quickly turn-over the choices we have for unique wood laminate tops.  To me this makes a huge difference in whether i push the button and "buy" - always satisfied with Warmoth but that's on the construction/build and play end.  On the selection side up front, I guess Warmoth has spoiled me and I am wanting more choices and faster turn-over of the wood designs not selling at the moment replacing them with new/different selections.

Does anyone know the schedule or what goes in to why and where Warmoth places certain wood choices?  Thanks for any info you can share!  Mike

Thinline lam tops are going to be thicker than your regular 1/8" drop top, nearly double.

Since they are not the biggest mover (demand) they don't get as much attention (supply).

If more thinlines moved in general (demand), compared to regular solid bodies and 1/8" drop tops, then the supply for them will increase.

Thickness, as well as the length and width of a piece of wood, determine which body shapes a particular laminate top may be used on. Warmoth is not going to thin out a thicker cut of wood to fit a body with a drop top, because that would both add to the cost and labor of production, and waste their choice stocks of wood. Likewise, they probably don't want to waste the cuts of wood that fit larger bodies, when there are shorter/narrower pieces available.
