Uncommon pairing of woods inadvisable?

I'm considering mating a Warmoth Swamp ash P-bass body to Warmoth  a Maple shaft/ ebony fretboard neck. Is this ill advised? I do not see or hear a lot of this particular tonewood configuration.

You might not hear people talk much about it because it's one of the standard 31 flavors. Good stuff to be had there.

The most common neck woods must surely be maple/maple, maple/rosewod and maple/ebony. And the most common woods for bodies must surely be alder and swamp ash. So the maple/ebony/swamp ash-combo must be pretty common, mustn’t it? ???

Yep, Swamp Ash body with a Maple/Ebony neck is not an uncommon combination of woods at all. It's definitely one of the tried-and-true tone recipes.
