Well...the headstock is all wrong on one....and the control layout isnt the same on the other..........umm  :dontknow:

Those are based on the  Warmoth VW body style discontinued around a year ago. You can put pretty much any control set you want on any body, if it's a layout that Warmoth doesn't do, it's easy enough to do it yourself.

Yep, you can still occasionally find VW bodies on eBay.  I think MusicMan threatened to sue so they discontinued it.

I was under the impression that they were under a C&D, but I guess no provision was made for previous images?  There was also one of those on the woods description pages.

since warmoth is liscenced by fender, and there is a new EVH wolfgang guitar made by fender, same shape, warmoth can probably make them again within the next year, as that is when the fender version will be arriving in stores, early 09

check it

Oh awesome!  :headbang:

Edit: It's not quite the same though.

That's pretty cool!  I really do like that shape, especially in a carved-top... it's like a LP with a little more fret access.

Nope, not the exact same. Pity... My introduction to the VW shape was at a Van Halen concert, back in march. No, may. Sometime around then.

I know what they are, I'm not an idiot. I happen to have one, my point being they were supposed to be removed from the website including the gallery. Mine was removed from the gallery after the cease order and the discontinuation of the body style.

never have liked the wolfgang style, hell it took me long enough to come around to liking the EBMM style. I think the only reason I ever got used to the EB was because it resembled a tele. But still don't like the wolfgang, maybe cause it had something to do with Peavey. Their guitars were always crappy, their amps are good. But they sucked at making guitars....

I have heard that the EB wolfgang was a great guitar, very tight tolerances and specs,  easy to play, the best action, etc....

We can only hope that we will get to buy our wolfgang REPLACEMENT parts from warmoth, and with a good setup, have a guitar as good as what EVH is trying to give (sell) us.

DangerousR6, are you the EB police?  :laughing7:  EB knows we're not making them anymore but I don't think they asked us to deny we ever made them. I don't think anyone noticed that one in gallery but it may have been left there since it is not a knock-off with that unique neck choice.

Nope not trying to be the EB police, but mine was shunned from the gallery. And according to the web guy I spoke with earlier this year, he said all references to the EB's were to be removed....If so, then reguardless of neck choice, the body style is still that of the EB, correct? :dontknow:

Hah, Warmoth is out to get you Doug.  They're gonna hound you with pics of VWs until you quit your job and go be their CNC programmer  :guitaristgif:
