I have a 1986 Fender Jazz Bass Special that I originally bought because I love Duff McKagan and Guns N' Roses but absolutely fell in love with because it plays great, sounds awesome and looks killer. I decided to make myself a guitar that was as close as I could get. It's not perfect but I love it and it plays and sounds amazing. It's easily my favorite guitar.
Neck is Warmoth CBS strat, standard thin, 22 jumbo frets, rosewood fretboard. Body is from some dude on Ebay that is actually very nice. Paint is Oxford aged white, black, gloss and satin clear all from aerosol cans. This was my first guitar that I painted myself. It's not perfect but I'm pleased overall.
All hardware is Gotoh (in keeping with the made in Japan theme of the Fender JBS), bridge pickup is a DiMarzio Super Distortion and the neck pickup is a DiMarzio ProTrack. I love the look of a humbucker and single coil.
