Turning gold into Nickel

I was looking for a slightly aged humbucker cover.  Thanks to line6man...I got a pair.

Now for my 5 minutes magic trick...I turned GOLD covers in Nickel covers.
All it took was a microfiber cloth and some very mild polishing compound, the stuff I use for final polish on a guitar.  I could have made it more shiney but wanted a worn look.

I did something similar a few years back with an Epi Shearton except I was doing the TOM tail piece. I liked the results I got.
