Tru-oil on bubinga?

So after hours of searching through the countless tru-oil related threads, I couldn't find anything on using Tru-oil on bubinga (in this case, a body). The closest I got was this thread at warwick forums:

Anyway,  I (now) know that to spray nitro on bubinga it's necessary to use an isolator of some kind, but since tru-oil is rub-on (and oxidizing instead of evaporative) could you just apply it directly to the raw wood?

I don't have a definitive answer for you, but if I had to guess I'd say you might have a problem with the Tru-oil never drying/curing completely. Bubinga needs a sealer/barrier because of natural oils it contains, so you'd be mixing two different kinds of oil, one of which doesn't ever really dry. So, I'd expect the Tru-oil is going to mix with it and either not stick, not dry, or both.

I'd look around and see if anyone does 'em raw. The only ones I've ever seen in real life have been on Rickenbackers, and they finish them. Not sure what the finish is, but it's likely a urethane of some sort.

Warwick oils bubinga in their Corvettes, but they don't say what type of oil it is.
