Tremolo question

I ordered a strat body with a quilt maple back in December. I had warmoth route the bridge for an American Standard Strat Tremolo.... (2 point fulcrum-style)

I want to use all black hardware on the guitar, but can only find the Strat tremolo in chrome.

What tremolos are drop-in replacements? So far I've seen the Hipshot Contour tremolo and the Callaham stuff. The Callaham trems don't come in black as far as I know. Also, the Hipshot documentation seems to be very sparse, so I'm not 100% sure that it is a drop-in replacement, and the pictures I've seen online don't even show anything other than the block/bridge and arm, so I'm not sure if it comes with all the springs, etc.

Does Wilkinson offer any tremolos that are drop-in replacements (meaning that I wouldn't have to do any additional routing)?

You can get one of these from Guitar Fetish...

... for $45 big ol' fluffy American dollars. That'll fit. Hardened plate, stainless saddles, heavy-duty arm - what's not to love?

If you don't like the stainless saddles, you can always get a set of Graphtech "String Savers"...

They're usually about $40 most places, so they cost nearly as much as the bridge, but it's an upgrade part and it's black.

Any idea how this would compare to the Hipshot trem bridged?

I can get that Hipshot from GC for $40, which is about what I'd pay for the guitar fetish one once I replaced the saddles.

I don't know. I've used some Hipshot stuff in the past, and they do a good job. So, if it'll fit, it's probably a Good Thing.

I've been happy with the Hipshot hardtail bridge I bought, and if you can get their US-Strat-style trem at Guitar Center for 40 bucks, you're getting a helluva deal - Hipshot list it at something like $125 on their own website.

That was a typo.

I ended up buying the hipshot from GC for $80 with their Valentine's day $20 off coupon.
