Trem users - you actually use that thing?

Supposedly the six-screw whammies sound more woody than the two-point ones, but they absolutely won't do the precise whole-step bends that I would want a whammy for in the first place.

Try stamped saddles (vintage fender trem-style saddles) on a 2 point... instead of the usual cheap pot metal blocky saddles.

You'll have Strat "crang" on a 2 pointer.

Don't get those roller saddles , whatever you do.

They'll rob so much tone and sustain you'll wonder what's wrong with your guitar !!!!

To get the best tone from a trem you need saddles that transmit as much vibration as possible, those saddles will do the EXACT opposite !

I have over 6 electrics...hardtail, wilki, floyd, and kahler.  IF I ONLY HAD TO HAVE ONE...it would either be the floyd or kahler.  I notice no tone loss with either whammy.

Like someone said about having a car that can hit 200mph...you may not do it all the time, but it is good to have it around.  Also...growing up playing 80s rock...it is almost a must.

I am sure DangerousR6 has an opinion but do not make me choose between the floyd and kahler!!!!  I grew up playing kahlers but I am really digging the feel of the floyd.  Both have advantages and disadvantages over eachother...but that is a different thread altogether!

Neither of them have Floyds.

They use Ibanez Edge Pros or whatever they are called.
I'm not sure how they differ from the Floyd Rose trem though. :dontknow:

You're right, the Ibanezes don't, but the Edge Pro is more like one than not especially when it comes to points of contact.
