Too Many Wires!

Hi folks, I'm building my first guitar using mostly Martin Koch's "Build Your Guitar" book.......VERY helpful.  Everything's going great, Thank God cause my warmth neck is gorgeous.. In Martin's book he includes a wiring plan akin to that of a PRS.  The Volume pot has one eyelet in which I need to solder 9 wires.  I can't figure out how to cleanly solder this large of a joint in such a small eyelet.  I end up with a lot of white noise hiss, and some tone/switch positions sound kinda muddy.  I'm sure there is a correct way to do this..........

I'm assuming this is a ground point? If so, there is absolutely no reason to solder that many grounds to one point. Solder them to different places, or create a bus bar of some sort in which to solder to.

It is indeed a ground point.  I'll try spreading it all out on a thin piece of copper bus.  Thanks line6man
