To anyone who has built a custom t bass

I'm currently building a guitar from scratch and happen to have enough black limba left over to build a bass.  I plan on ordering a tele bass neck and was hoping to build a tele shaped bass body.  My question is whether the custom t is the same size as a traditional tele, as that's the way it looks in Warmoth's pictures.  Can anyone give me some insight as to whether I should just make some templates for a regular tele then move the bridge back without it falling off the end of the body.

here's a link you might find interesting. this guy took a regular old tele guitar and made it into a short scale bass. kind of cool. not a fan of the decorations on the thing, but it's a cool DIY project.
