Okay, first let me say the Everything About All the Finishes article was wonderful and extremely helpful. But now I'm ready to start, and just a bit nervous about ending up with an epoxy encrusted lump of korina that just about impossible to sand back to start-over. Do we have a thread (or better yet, a nicely done article) on getting started and prep work? Stuff like:
Masking off places you will never ever ever get crud out of. (I'm guessing I should mask off the neck pocket, tremelo stud sockets and the control cavity.) Did I miss anything? What'd you use - just blue painter's tape? Putty? How do you get putty out of trem stud sockets? Maybe I should figure out the thread on the studs and stick bolt in there, then putty around that.
Stuff that no noob would ever ever think of unless he recalled seeing it before, like:
Don't do operations that require massive amounts of ventillation when its 32 below outside.
Getting sanding dust out before you start applying stuff.
Anything else I'm forgetting?
