Tipperman Jaguar

I started a Fiesta Red Jaguar for Tipperman today so I’m going to post a DIY progress thread for you all to watch it come together. Teles were the rage last year but Jaguars, Telemasters, and Jazzmaster are the rage this year.

By the way I have received bodies and necks from all different manufactures this year and I have to tell you Warmoth’s workmanship is still the best by far!!!! I don't mind working on other manufactures parts but Warmoth still rules.

First step; paste fill the Alder body. I still feel it is best to fill an alder body if I'm doing a solid or metallic color; it saves lots of labor later.

Next vintage tint on the neck, I'll let Tipperman explain the Strat headstock but we will make it work and it will look great on the guitar. It will be a matching Fiesta Red headstock.  :icon_thumright:

Basically it's what I'm comfortable with. I don't like the CBS Jaguar headstock option because it doesn't have the same lines, so I went with a sexy small one. I like them small. Oohhhhh......

Now I have a nice white lacquer prime coat waiting for level sanding and then I'll go to
Fiesta Red.  I might get this thing red before I head Guatemala next Friday!

I know what you mean. Those guys at Warmoth do have a knack for picking out fine pieces of lumber and cutting/machining away all the parts that don't look like a guitar body/neck, don't they? Makes you wonder where the kukka pieces go. I mean, they can't all look like showpieces.

That reminds me... I got a Tele coming soon that's gonna need some neckwear. Doug - you still have the files for the last 5 or 6 you made for me? I need the same thing in black, but that says "November 2011".

Just a heads up:

Vintage correct, 1962 Fender Jaguar.... with a strat headstock and a mastery bridge. Hey, improvements happen.

Anyways, I'd like to give a ****ing leviathan shout out to Greg. Seriously, his attention to detail and providing information is THAT big. Not to overblow things at all. If anyone randomly sees this and needs someone to do a damn sexy job and follow request as best as possible (Some things just don't work out) he's the man.

No clear coats this week, I'll reckon, if Greg hasn't already applied some.  Weather just turned to crap in northern California.

Damnable weather!

I know I'm shut down for paint now. We probably won't see snow for another month, but it's definitely not painting weather. Probably be April, unless I get a wicked heater for the garage.
