Three P90s

This is just out of curiosity, as I know I like the P90s sound, but don't know much else.
If you were to put three p90s in a guitar with a strat style 5 way selector, would you get a strat type sound in any of the middle positions or would it be way off?

Sounds quite strat like, actually.  I had that with vintage wound P-90s, and the middle position sounds were quite nice.  HOWEVER, I HATED having the middle pickups as it would interfere with my right hand.  May just be me though.
