Bad Co. recording a new album, touring in 2016?

Sir, that link just lead me down a 45-minute Alice-in-Wonderland drop into the internet rabbit hole, starting with Boz Burrell's Ampeg scroll bass, to King Crimson, to Pete Sinfield, re Ampeg scroll bass, then to fretless basses in general (my instrument for nearly 20 years), to a guy on youtube who created from parts a repro Jaco ’62 Jazz bass with Japanese P-bass neck reprofiled to ’62 J-bass specs with frets removed and fretboard expoxied like Jaco's by the latter's Florida-based luthier...

But: to come to BC – I was never a huge fan, having gotten a mega-overdose of their hits at various mid-70s era high school dances (performed by actual musicians), but always enjoyed Boz Burrell's bass playing and had kept ever since a mental image of his scroll bass which puzzled as it lingered. Would love to give one a whirl. Never learned "Can't Get Enough," but I'm sure I'd find something else to play on it.

You planning on checking out the 21st c. version of BC?

Yay! I'd say "one of my favorites" except I don't actually own any of their stuff. Still, I really like BC and PR.  To me, they're kinda like the Foo Fighters of the 70's.

Ι have their first LP which I like but most of all I liked P. Rodgers voice (he's a good guitarist too). He and Kirke were in Free so I always compared the two bands and there's just no comparison for me. Bad Company were good but not in the same league and of course there was no Kossoff.

As far as their reunion I feel the same for every old band that does this, better go home and jam in your luxury studio. It saddens me to see old guys playing R'N'R in arenas.

I must say +1.

It's strangely anachronistic when a 60–70+ year-old guy takes the stage to play his youthful hits from 40 or 50 years ago. :sad1:

I doubt it was just a personal fever dream of his. There are a lotta people who stand to make money off such an event. All you need for a big payday is a big draw, and they were an arena-class band at one time.

Personally, I'm with Glimmer - I got so much Bad Company jammed down my throat in high school that if I never heard one of their tunes again I wouldn't miss it for a second. On the plus side, while their stuff was as easy to play as Black Sabbath, you still got a lotta brownie points with the chicks for being able to do it.

I've never been a huge Bad Co. or Free fan, but I am with Cagey on recognizing there's a lot of folks who stand to get paid behind a Bad Co. tour featuring Mr. Rodgers.

WRONG MR. ROGERS, DOOFUS!

Ah, Mr. Rogers.  I loved that show when I was small, and Mr. R. had no gray hair.  Lest anyone get the wrong impression, he was NOT flippin' birds in that photo I posted - he was doing a show where he was just innocently counting his way through his fingers, and some wise-ass captured the video at the appropriate moment.  Fred Rogers is one of the unsullied memories I have of a pretty freakin' sullied childhood.  Bless that man.
