I had a bubinga/bubinga J-Bass neck, and they've done them as long ago as 3 years. Great combination, and I'll do another in the future. A mite heavy - but tolerable, and ohhhhh so sweet a sound. The only reason I sold my bubinga/bubinga and bloodwood/bloodwood necks was they both didn't quite fit my hand closer to the nut (where I spend much of my time). With the "new thin" J-Bass neck...that shouldn't be an issue any longer for those of us with shorter digits that have to play in B or A# for extended periods. I'm also done with SS frets on my necks after many years and basses. Some tastes just seem to come full circle :dontknow:
