Looks like a gloss to me, too. You can see the ceiling fixtures in the reflections.
Satin will gloss up. But, you could put a top on that doesn't require a finish and buff the hell out of it to get a satin finish. They tend to stay that way while satin finishes don't. Downside is raw wood bodies tend to get nasty fairly quickly. Body oils, sweat, beer, drool, dirt, hooker dust, etc. all conspire to make you look like some kind of alley cat when you strap the raggedy-assed thing on.
But, tell that to SRV or Willie Nelson. Talk about shameless.
