So I've been eying this showcase body ever since I got the thought of building a bass two months ago.
It's hollow, but it doesn't have an f-hole. Which is a dream for me, because that means I could cut a tear-drop style F-hole like a Rickenbacker or the half-F they have on Italia guitars, as Max mocked up for me in another thread
Then of course there's the fact that it's a tele thinline bass, which I just think is awesome by itself.
Of course, I'm drawn to it entirely by aesthetics. I know what I want to build is a traditional P (or PJ) with alder body and maple/rosewood neck.
Anyone think this thing could pull off traditional, fat, clear P-bass tone or should I just stop dreaming? I'm really just looking for someone to tell me it's justified to buy this instead of the Daphne Blue p-bass I was thinking about.
oh yeah. and i'd finish it in tobacco burst with a vintage tint neck most likely
