I’m Warmoth’s worst customer: a guy who put together one guitar that was so good, I never built another one.
I posted The Zencaster here in 2016, and aside from a few cool cosmetic additions, it’s still the same amazing Strat. Chambered mahogany Warmoth body, finished in Danish oil cured with beeswax. Clapton profile Warmoth neck, 10” to 16” compound radius, tinted, ebony fretboard, abalone dots and bone nut. EMG SA-X pickups with Strat Presence Control. Callaham vibrato bridge with GraphTech Classic saddles. Schaller locking tuners with ebony buttons, solid ebony pickguard and backplate.
The resonance and natural sustain of this guitar is unequalled. The versatility of sound is amazing and its light, balanced weight makes it a joy to play. I have compared this guitar to FCS guitars and the Custom Shop guitars were found wanting. I only own two other guitars - a Tele and an acoustic - because I can’t find another one this good.
