If it ends up being ONLY links, then I'll probably stop using this forum as I mentioned most of them I haven't been able to get to from my work computer.

Gosh I'd sure hate to see that happen over something this trivial.
But if you do decide to go, PLEASE delete any photos you have on the server to make space for those of us who remain behind.

Leasing commercial server space is also a lot simpler and less expensive than many might realize, and it provides a lot of nice features. For instance, 1&1 has a package that's only $5/mo (billed quarterly) that gives you 50GB of storage space, 250 mail accounts, web page building apps/utilities, unlimited bandwidth, 10 databases and more. Your data is kept on two separate servers at two different locations with all the backup you say you're going to do yourself but never do.

You could build your own web site, stash data you don't want to keep locally for fear of HDD failure, host pictures you want to post on forums such as this, on and on. It's a handy thing that costs less than a 6 pack a month.

They're also certainly not the only ones providing that service. Everybody and their brother seems to be in the hosting business these days, so competition is fierce. That's why they offer so much for so little.

With all due respect, the OP's attitude is absurd.
Most of us are responsible for our own images, but Warmoth graciously provides the use of their server space, free of charge. To say you will leave because they won't meet your unreasonable and unrealistic demands is ridiculous. No one is entitled to any free storage space on a free and privately owned forum, and by no means should they even expect it.

With that being said, I understand the notion that not being able to view externally hosting images might degrade your forum experience, but that is going to be true of almost any internet forum, as most people externally host images. Additionally, there is so much great content here, you're missing out on quite a bit.

Awhile back my favorite forum changed the color of my desktop page.
I was fit to be tied!
I was gonna...
Then I was gonna...
And furthermore...
Then I made up my mind.
I googled "Guitar building forums"
I got About 14,400,000 results in(0.18 seconds)
So I started sorting through them and found out that most of them didn't give me a yucky blue-greeen desktop either.

So I keep coming back even if you are grey and white.
