The only song I like of theirs goes:

Hey, cheer up!
I think it's mean to shout.
That's enough.
Just have shower.
Eww...
Wash off that filth.
That's wrong...
To be so dirty.

You think that you are coming back?
Just wash, imbecile!
Just wash, imbecile!

Whoever voted for Gary Cherone let me tell you this. He never had a chance. He was brought in for one album and one album only. They were obligated to the record company to do it so they got Gary to come in. The poor guy got screwed so bad. He really could have been a good addition to that band. I spent a lot of time around him and I can tell you that he is one of the nicest people you'd ever hope to meet, and a helluva singer/performer. But, again, he never had a chance in that band.

i agree man, its his own fault for accepting i guess. Love gary in extreme, they are like the next best thing to van halen.

I like them both.  I think Eddie played more aggressively during the Dave years and when I think of signature Eddie stuff, it's with Dave.  I think Dave was tons more charismatic than Sammy, but Dave also had a show-tuney cheesy kind of feel about him when they did covers.  Vocally, Dave could do stuff Sammy just couldn't.

I vote Sammy just because I thought the songs were better, even if it had Sammy singing them.  By then, the keyboard was really a big part of their sound and filled it out.  Michael Anthony's always great BGVs were at their best then too.  The later band just sounded better to me.

If I were going to have either one over at the house, it would be Dave.

I agree.. I really liked him in Extreme, and I was really excited when I heard that he was going to join VH. And I didn't even think the Album was bad at all! Nobody really gave him a chance.. I guess Die hard fans accept just one frontman change and that's it :)

as a side note, I am a die hard YES fan, and I have a lot of trouble getting over their latest line up. Im still a fan, and I really enjoyed them in concert (its still Howe, Squire White and half a Wakeman) but something just doesn't feel right..

Same here!! I am one of those rare persons that have both Steve Howe and Trevor Rabin in my top 5 favorite guitarists!

LOVE YES! I do prefer the older, pre-90125 stuff though. None of my friends can stand the old stuff. But I can't get enough of it.
