I think an Ebony 'board over a gloss black [insert wood species here] neck would look
great on that body. I'd probably use Maple rather than Mahogany, though. Less high end loss and greater sustain. Even better if you go slightly thicker, like a '59 roundback contour, but I don't know what you're used to. Also, keep in mind that the "Pro" construction necks with the dual-action truss rods are super-stable. You gain a little weight, but it's only ounces and it's worth it. And don't forget: stainless steel frets!
