The input hole on a Jazzmaster pickguard -- can it be used for a potentiometer?

I'm wondering if this is the same size as the hole for an potentiometer.

OUTPUT. The signal flows out, not in.

If the hole is too small, you simply enlarge it with a reamer. Takes about 30 seconds, and shouldn't cost more than a few dollars, if you don't have the tool.

The alternative is to use smaller pots.

The pots and jacks I have around here all want 3/8" (.375") holes. Mini toggles want 1/4" (.250"), and regular toggles want 1/2" (.500").
