So here is Roisin Dubh, or "The Black Rose"

As explained in the "in progress" topic, the name comes from the woods used (BLACK korina and indian ROSEwood), from Ireland, and it is also a reference to one of my favorite Thin Lizzy songs.

The Specs:
Hollow Korina Body
Rosewood Top
Indian Rosewood Neck (1 11/16, standard thin, compound radius, SS6105)
Ebony FB
Graphtech Nut
Planet Waves auto trim tuners
Tonerider Rocksong set
GFS Wilkinson

I was not sure about the wilkinson when I first got it, because it seemed smaller and lighter than a gotoh. but once installed, it is working really wel! very smooth!

think of what awesomeness their incestuous intentions can develop! maybe a neck through jaguar?

I think the zebra pickup looks a tad out of place, personally, but otherwise it's a stunning build!

agreed..
but remember, the pickups is what it started with.
the perfect reason to build a guitat: an unused set op humbuckers and tuners :)

Very nice! Once again Mark O pullin' out the classy stuff.

I'm always a sucker for beautiful bodies by the pool. :icon_tongue:

cool, I noticed black rose has no switch does it... So that is just 2 volume knobs for each pick up?

1 volume and 1 blend!
it was just a simple experiment, but it works great! i can dial in some really nice tones by combining the pickups in different proportions.

Thanks Doug!!! :)

Is that just a shellac finish?  The 2 tone look of the different woods look reeeeeal nice!

Wow Marko.  How did I miss this.  That thing looks amazing, and the two together would make anybody jealous.

Great job  :glasses9:

Wow, that is really cool, Doug!
I am a little broke at the moment, but will order this in about 2 - 3 weeks.. I will give you a shout by then! :)

and we should drive over to pick it up again, and go for a couple of beers!

Whenever you'd like it my friend. It'll be no problem, some beers would be good too... :icon_thumright:
