The quickest way to make a Tele look un-Tele is to ditch the control plate.
Agreed, Personally I think if you are doing a Tele, it needs the control plate. It is a defining characteristic.

I also Agree, the control plate also keeps the back of the guitar from having a large piece of flimsy plastic covering a giant hole.

no matter what I do on a Tele, its going to have Pickguard and a Control Plate.

This statement you made is contradictory from the title.... :icon_scratch:

You said best color for an "UN" tele telecaster....To me UN-tele means no control plate, no pickguard....And no twaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang... :dontknow:

I'm not AIMING to be Un-Tele. but with Bold paint, graphic pickguards, humbuckers, a flatter radius neck and warmer woods in the mix...

It comes across less Tele than I feel a Tele should be.

Really... I like tele's. but... I just don't need a normal one yet... but I like how they look. and more importantly how they sit.

my graphics card is a 256 mb Radeon, for 2008 it was the best you could get in an off the rack Hewlett Packard. it is now, literally burning out. its the only thing in this computer that is failing. and because its a laptop its taking the whole computer down with it.

Looks like Surf Green, Bright Red and Black are winning.

In my head, as well as the poll. its a 3 way tie.

It may seem that the obvious Remedy is to build 3 tele's... but... TEH MONEY.  :sad1:

graphics card aside it has more to do with the panel and the drivers and icc file. the panels arent actually 24bit color, you must spend buko bucks on a desktop to get a 24bit panel. the monitors are advertised as 24bit because they can mix pixels of the next shade into your color aproximating 24 bit color, but in reality is is not. there are other issues too and i have seen monitors incapable of being corected but you should make sure you have the correct ICC files installed and then adjust the brightness(black level) contrast and gamma for each color individually if the drivers allow you will see a big diference. just google monitor calibration or color corecrtion, many sites have specialized images to aid in the process.

thanks, and the generally agreed upon spelling is Beaucoup. its s word of french origin meaning "An abundance"
