Received in the mail on Friday afternoon (not a bad way to end the week).

Black Korina SG.

Also received a few weeks ago is the Wenge/Pau Ferro neck.

That pointed bridge matches the pointed SG nicely. :icon_thumright:

What are you doing for a finish? Flat black spray-paint, obviously. :icon_jokercolor:

I was seriously tempted to do an SG with a recessed TOM for my current project. But in the end I figured a good chunk of what I hate about Gibsons is the balance point and the way the 12th fret hangs about 2 frets too far out to the left, and so I went with the Strat body. But... sweet guitar, and it gives me a twinge of not quite remorse (cause I love the SG's looks).

Yeah, as soon as I saw that bridge I knew she was for me.

Ha! I've been down the auto parts already :)

No, tru-oil is where I'm headed.

Congratulations...  Great lookin' SG!
I love that bridge on that body.  :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
Very cool...

Cletus, you keep popping up luscious pix of that wood and people like Fernando will have a seizure! :toothy11:

Finally some Schroeder bridge action! Looking forward to hearing your opinion on it, as I have a future build planned that will use one.

Other than the purplheart top, my Billy Bo is the same combo..Wenge/pau neck and black korina body... :icon_thumright:

Wow, that korina wood grain is sick!!  The 2nd pic almost has the look of fur.  It looks soft.

Awesome and congrats!  Can't wait to see it completed.

A really beautiful piece of korina. Whats your plan for a finish?

Nex, Tru-oil, based on the results that Troubled Treble got with his Strat. Coincidentally, he's made one of the pickups I'll be using.
