You know that I usually write heavy rock instrumentals, but took a step back a few months ago.  I was going through some rough water with my GF and we both agreed that if things didn't improve by this past April, we'd set each other free.  Thankfully, we were able to work things out, but in the midst of it all, this song came to me.

Best,

Beautiful work, Frank.  I am somewhat in awe of your drum programming skillz.  But more generally, the piece is tasteful and effectively evokes the kind of romantic travail you describe in your blurb above.  One of the more substantial compliments I can pay you as a player is that you don't overplay - you consider the arrangement and your guitar playing's place in it.  In a world of guitar players who turn up louder,  play faster, and blow everything else away, you are a standout in that regard.

I'm glad you and  your girlfriend have gotten downstream of the rapids.  Best of luck.

Ah, don't mistake my lack of skill for a tasteful forbearance of shredding!  :laughing7:

I do appreciate your comments!  As it turns out, my neighbors also greatly appreciate the fact I'm using a drum program.  This is also one of the few songs I've done that is being left sans bass.  I've tried a million lines and can't make it work.  Just gonna leave it be.

I'm actually in engagement ring shopping mode.  You may have noticed the explosion of gear and project related postings as of late.  My last "toy run" before things get serious!

I liked the guitar sounds on this tune and also the cello.
Beautiful :)

That's HUGE coming from you.  You are the king of touch and tasty, audio treats.

Yeah, the tone fits the vibe.  Care to share the chain?

Thank you! Absoutely -

My purple W Tele, "Ms Nesbit", or "Doves Cry" when she's feeling emo > Scratch-built amp>Sennheiser > Apogee Duet 2 > Mac Pro 12 Core > Logic X > Amplitube 3 pro post processing > Ozone 5 Mastering suite.

This is beautiful, Frank.  Ian nailed it when he said that it effectively evokes the romantic travail you described.  Very nice guitar tone and texture.

On a different note, I am happy to hear your relationship has come back together.  :icon_thumright:
