Telecaster Jack

I just ordered a Telecaster body to replace my stock Fender Tele body. When I removed the stock jack from the body, I noticed a metal bar mounted across the jack cavity into which the jack is inserted. Does the Warmoth body include this bar or do I need to get a Tele jack cup that has a screw mount in it?

Give it up,  just use a football plate and a jack. The Electrosocket looks nice, but doesn't with with right angle plugs or even straight shorting jacks work well.

This is sound advice. The standard Tele jack cup is a nightmare and will fail at the worst moment. I tend to prefer the Electrosockets, but it's true they don't cooperate with certain cable configurations. The football plate is indeed pretty foolproof.

I'll pile on in favor of the football (or square) jack plate. The standard Tele cup jack is a problem child - bad design from the word go - and the Electrosocket has fitment problems on some body styles. Then, even if it would fit properly, you sometimes have trouble with plugs not wanting to insert completely. Plate's the way to go.

Dunno. That, or perhaps a 'bot. I know F.R.E.D.'s threat radar is beeping...

You have 10 seconds to comply...

Love the Electrosocket idea.  Have found it lacking with right angles plugs as well as Neutrik shorting plugs.  The Tele I am building was originally planning on an Electrosocket.  No longer.  Being that my main cables all use Neutrik shorting.

I've got electrosockets on all my teles.  I'm not fussy about the small gap on the modern 'not-flat-in-that-spot' bodies.  I guess I'm more utilitarian - I just want the thing to work.

I have electrosockets in both my Telecasters. I use only right hand plugs and they fit with no problem. Both bodies are the standard Warmoth Telecaster not the newer vintage style.

My first few builds used 1/2" Deep Panel Jacks and I quickly got pretty frustrated with them due to durability issues. I then used football and square plates a couple of times and got pretty frustrated a couple of times trying to get them to match a body profile somewhat closely. Recently I am using electrosockets and so far I really like them. For some reason I'm not really fond of angled plugs on the instrument side so that's not been an issue for me.

Damn, you got me thinking Electrosocket again
Yeah, I had my coming build all figured out. Now i may have to order an Electrosocket. Sheesh. :icon_scratch:

I love the electrosocket, can't imagine a 7/8" output jack hole without it anymore.

What makes it even better is the adding the Planet Waves Jack to it.  Good solid connections at multiple points.
