Here is my latest creation: a scratch built Tele with Bigsby. The comisioner wants a T with a twist: HB pickups in single format, body contours and no pickup switch; instead of this, there is a blend pot (middle one, between volume and master tone). Also it must be a Bigsby trem.

The neck comes from StewMac (I have no spray gun, and can't guarantee that the clear on the fingerboard lasts enough); it's one piece maple with vintage contour. The body it's made of light ash, nice grain and no bad spots. GFS Lil Puncher pickups hooked to CTS pots and orange drop capacitor. The volume pot it's push-pull, so the use can switch the neck pup to single coil; the same operation we have in the tone control for the bridge pup. The bridge-tremolo combo cames from StewMac, the B50 unit.
At the end it results in a very comfy and versatile Tele. I hope the customer likes it very much.

The plate for the bridge pickup was made out of aluminium by a jeweller friend of mine because I can't find the right one that works with the bride I have (thanks Libe)

Looks great.  I am building a bigsby tele also.  I am just using the ashtray style bridge and modifying it by cutting some slots for the strings to go through.

How do you like the blend pot instead of the switch?

Personally I prefer the switch, but the customer wants something different and this opens a wide range of options...

I'd rather a separate switch as well, but I can understand wanting to reduce clutter. Unfortunately, push-push and push-pull switches attached to pots have notoriously short lifespans, so they're never an option for me and I don't recommend them to others. Still, if you're of the mind that you need numerous connection options you can't deny the convenience and clean appearance. Beats the snot out of mini-switches littering the top of the guitar and taxing your attention while playing.

I'm curious how that B50 is working. I notice there's nothing special about the nut, and you don't mention if those are locking tuners. Plus, the B50 uses bushings rather than bearings on the moving parts. So... how well does the thing maintain its tuning? Seems like it would be a nightmare.

Very attractive, though. Nice job.
