Tele wiring problem ... :s

Hello,

I just finished putting together my first warmoth tele, and i do have some wiring issues :

1. Neck only position gives neck and bridge pickups
2. The guitar hums a lot, but it hums MUCH louder when i touch the strings than when i'm not touching the strings.. this is the opposite of what is usually happening so i'm not certain i understand the problem here.

I followed Seymour duncan classic tele wiring schematic.

i did not shield the cavities, but i grounded the bridge plate (plate to back of tone pot), the control plate (plate to back of vol pot). Should these wires go on the same circuit as the ground of the pickups? could that be the issue? currently, everything is wired together : black wire of the pickups, ground to control plate and bridge, all of these go to the ground side of the output jack. is that correct?
thanks in advance

Arnaud

Erm ....
i'm ashamed to say that i found the solution to the first problem ... i had inverted ground and signal on the output jack ..

I'm looking at the switch issue now, but that seems much easier to solve than the other one that i did not understand :)
If i can't find the solution to the switch problem, i'll post my wiring.

Thanks for your help :)

simple solder bridge between one lug of the switch and another lug. everything is working as it should now .. thanks for helping
