Tele wiring choices

Someday, I'll be able to restart my Tele project. With the delay, I have started to consider an additional option.
Here are the givens, top route Tele
Neck and bridge single coil pickups. Both pickups have a tap on the coil. Tapped is standard Tele, full is closer to P90.
Going to use a reversed and angled Tele control plate. I will be using a 4 way switch for neck, neck bridge parallel, neck bridge series, bridge.

Option 1: use a 3 way mini switch located between the vol and tone pots. This would allow both pups tapped, neck tapped and bridge full, and both pups full.

Now thinking about option 2: use push pull pots so that I can individually select tapped or full.

Option 2 would allow the option of having neck full and bridge tapped that option 1 doesn't account for.  Not sure how usable an option that would be in either series or parallel.

Thoughts? This guitar will be used live on stage, so practicality does matter.

Let me know.

I'd go with option 2. If you decide that you never use this option you can always put in regular pots. But with option 1 you'd still have a hole after the mini switch, should you decide to remove it.
Also - in my opinion - I always find that extra switches and gadgets between two pots - that's already really close to each other - a source for irritation and fumbling fingers when I want to quickly change the volume.

Your option 2 is a good one. I've been considering Tele wiring with push/pull pots myself. They do the job nicely and don't take up additional real estate. Also, as Logrinn pointed out, they're easy to back out of and go back to your original configuration.

Option X: 5 way super switch

Bridge
Neck
N&B Parallel
N&B Series
N&B Half out of Phase

Option MMXVII: Build another guitar that has the tones this one is missing.

Keep in mind, I want the coil tap options.

Totally doable. I'd use 2x on-on switches, one for each pickup. It'd allow you to tap either or both of the pickups in any pickup position

not quite the real estate to do that effectively on a Tele control panel
