Tele style double neck wiring

Hi, First time here. I'm having a 12/6 double neck built and wiring in Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound on both necks. I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to wire in a 3 way DPDT on/on/on type 1 mini toggle as a neck selector (top/both/bottom) mounted on the control plate between 1 volume and 1 tone pot, going into a standard Oak Grigsby 3 way blade switch, and out to the output jack. I have ideas on how to do this but if someone actually knows how to do this, that would be awesome!

Thanks, P.D.

You have 2 pickups on each neck and you want one 3-way blade pickup selector, master volume master tone and a mini toggle to let you select which pickups are active? You can do that with a 4P3T blade switch like found in the Charvel "6 pack of tone" wiring scheme. and then you need a mini toggle that is on/on/on.

I think this diagram will work for you

Thank you Supertruper. Ah okay then. I need to source this blade switch, then and yes indeed this diagram will work and is exactly what I'm looking for.

Very helpful and much appreciated. You're awesome

Turns out this is easier said than done. The diagram provided doesn't seem to get the result I'm looking for.

This is what happens:

Toggle up 12 string neck select: 3 way switch functions properly.

Toggle middle both necks select: Only the bridge pickup on the 6 string neck functions. No other pickups work.

Toggle down: Bridge and neck dead with blade in neck position. Bridge and neck both active with blade in middle and bridge position.

Obviously, I'm looking for simple 3 way tele functions, Neck/Both/Bridge blade functions and 12 neck/both necks/6 neck, for the 3 way mini toggle functions, one volume, one tone.

The only 3W4P switch that seems to be available...anywhere comes from AxLabs

So that's what I'm using...no other choice. Kinda stuck here.

My brain is kinda scrambled on this so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Got a link for the exact switch you are using? I can adjust the diagram

Hey Truper, thanks for getting back!

It's at AxLabs here: axlabshardware.com/products/axlabs-3-way-blade-4-pole-switch

and I attached the only drawing I could find. For some reason I'm unable to post the whole URL. I wonder if it's just moving the 6 string pickups down one lug each as by the drawing it looks like the contacts for that part of the switch are in the middle of the switch rather than on the end of the switch? And then moving the contact for the toggle to the middle...of the switch? If that makes any sense.

You would know far better than I would. Thanks so much for the help!

seems like you dont have everything in the right order. I cant tell which set is which but the neck pickup on the orange side of the diagram is not correctly wired.

You're right about that. I didn't catch that. I'll try fixing this and see what happens here, thank you.
