Nice. I really like that colour.
What pickups will you put in it?

I'm going with the Overwound Classic Tele Set and a pre-wired harness all from Benson Custom Pickups. I have his '63 Strat Set in Warmoth Hardtail Strat and I've never been happier!

Ah, I see. So you're not going for a P90 type pickup in the neck position then?

I adore P90's actually! But, I've never owned a Tele before. So I chose to have this one routed for a P90 in the neck (thinking that I may want to give that a try down the road) - but for now, I'm going to start off with a very traditional kind of Tele pickup configuration being that this is my first Tele.

I've never had much luck with conventional Tele neck pickups, and I have found the P90 to be a good match with the Tele bridge pup.  But your experience may - and in all likelihood, will - differ.

Very nice. I didn't know I liked Lake Placid Blue. And that dotless Rosewood is pretty sweet, too. I had to check that - thought maybe it was something else. All goes together well. Gonna be a nice Tele.

LPB is one of my favorite colors. Looks great. Congrats.

Good move. You can always upgrade later on. Or just build another one since this one was so much fun. :icon_biggrin:

I rather like Tele neck pickups. Enough that I put two of them in my Nashville! This looks to be the makings of a fine Tele, looking forward to seeing the progress!

Nice! Did you build custom or order showcase? How long did your order take to arrive?

The body was showcase while the neck was custom. I ordered everything, all at once, on August 30. I received the items late last week. It's worth mentioning though that I live in Canada and that certainly slows things down. I think Warmoth shipped everything Oct. 30th. So, I guess it took them about 8.5 weeks to fulfill the order (which included a custom and finished neck) - that beat their quote of 10 to 12 weeks for finished necks. I'm very pleased!

I remember the first neck I bought with no inlays. I was pretty apprehensive, wondering if I'd have trouble finding my way around on the thing. But, it was too pretty to break up with inlays so I had to try it. Turns out (at least for me) it takes about 8.2 seconds to get used to it. There are still side markers, so it's not like you have to have some prescient, tactile understanding of where you are on the 'board.

Plus, I never know where I am anyway, so... :laughing7:

I used to play classical guitar for a while. No markers at all on it, no side dots either. It's actually a good thing because once you get used to it you rely more on hearing and other perceptions of where you are versus staring at the board.

I still need the side markers because even after all these years, I'm not as instinctive about where I'm at as I'd like to be.
