Tele/P BASS wiring problem

I just completed the construction of my Warmoth 51P body with a Tele Bass neck and it looks very nice.  Yesterday I attempted to install the electronics but learned this morning that it's not working right.  It's the standard volume/tone 2-pot configuration and I am using a Bartolini split Precision pickup S-1.

I sure will appreciate any of you more experienced guys lending me advice so I can fire this thing up.

Thank you!

Tony

"Not working right" is a bit vague. Did it catch fire? Is there no output? Did it strangle your cat? Is it too noisy? Something...

You're absolutely right - it is vague, and I'll elaborate:

There is no bass sound at all, plain and simple.

I wired it by soldering the wire mesh outer lead from the pickups to the outside of the volume pot.  Then I soldered the other lead from the pickups to the only unused contact on the same pot.

I bought the pre-assembled harness from a trusted source so my only action was to connect the pickups....all else was wired.

Please let me know if this is enough information and thanks for the help.

No, that's not enough. At least one of the pots normally does have an unused connection, I don't know what pickups or control layout or switching you have, among other things.

But, here's an idea. Rather than go back and forth 271 times trying to wring out details, check out this wiring diagram site from Seymour Duncan. Toward the bottom is a drop-down list of various bass wiring schemes. Check through those, select one that sounds close, and hit the "submit" button. It'll pop up a wiring diagram that you can compare to what you have. You may have to look at more than one, but chances are good they've got you covered.
