So I think I'll finally speak over my latest work. My summer project is a new Tele Deluxe, it was originally supposed to be a regular Tele but we got the order wrong and there was no contact information so I was stuck with the plans.
I did a quick design of how I'd like it to look through the Warmoth builder. The body is made out of a big chunk of Poplar we had lying around from when my dad and i were building a shaving horse for chairs. I used a forstner bit and some chisels for the pickup and control routes and a table router for the round over, which is closer to that of a strat in my opinion. I'm currently putting off any more work until later this year because I just recently found out that we have about 6 months to move out of our home, but I'll probably grab all the hardware and pickguard over that time, maybe even get a neck from Warmoth.
I'm still thinking over the pickups, I'm of either a pair of those Eastwood Valco double coils or maybe some Charlie Christians from Lollar and Rautia. The guitar will have a black finish, probably just black lacquer, and a faux tortoiseshell pickguard from Warmoth. It'll also have silver dome knobs and a Gotoh non-trem bridge.
