I'll slowly be gathering parts for my next build in the next few months, starting with this awesome screaming deal body:

Quilt maple on ash in vintage tint finish. My original plan was to go with a butterscotch finish, but this looked too good. I'm planning to keep everything pretty standard for a Tele and a DiMarzio Chopper T + Twang King combo. Still no proper tools or space to assemble it myself this time around either, but I'll be doing the electronics since it was by far the most expensive part of the bill when I got my soloist assembled.

It should look something like this:

It'll look great the way you are planning, but I can just imagine that body with no pickguard and a black P90 in the neck

It's not routed for a P90, it's a much larger hole for a Lollar Charlie Christian pickup like this:

@exaN: Folks around here will know I'm not generally one for figured wood tops, but that one made me stop and reconsider my priorities when I saw it in the RSS feed. Nice grab!

That would look pretty rad, but as Fat Pete said the cavity fits a Lollar Charlie Christian. So it'll have to keep the pickguard, otherwise I would've considered it for sure!

I'm usually with you on that. Every time I feel like I'm due for a guitar with a nice figured top, I change my mind and go with simple. This one feels kind of in the middle, not full on high grade, but not over the top either. Hopefully it looks as good in person .

Excellent pick, Brother. That's one slamm'in body, gonna look awesome. Keep those pix a-coming!  :headbang:

Good choice going with the one you did.  Looks great with the black pickguard!  I have been a bit underwhelmed by my butterscotch blond on alder tele body.  Not much noticeable grain showing in mine at all.  Hope your build goes together smoothly, looking forward to some completed pics.

That's outstanding! Congratulations. Now, the fun begins... :icon_thumright:

What kind of finish are you going with on the neck?

My roasted maple neck feels great, but looks a bit off on my blondish/TV-yellowish tele.  I'll probably transplant it to a candy apple red tele body, and replace it with either a vintage-tint maple or untinted maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.

I have a soloist with a roasted maple neck and it is as amazing as they say. For this one I think I'll be going for a maple/maple vintage tint gloss for that classic full blonde Tele look :).

Beautiful piece! I like that it has the cutaways. That's gonna be one comfy Tele.

I would probably go with the vintage tint, too. The plain finish is fine but the tint is more dynamic.
