Just picked up a mexi-standard strat. I want to switch the bridge out with an american trem. other than drilling new holes for the posts. what do i have to do? I know about set-up and intonation.

the outer 2 screws are the same distance as the am. std. or wilkinson, so you may wish to fill the middle four. the outer two need to be enlarrged to whatever size it is that the new one needs.

i'll use this moment to plug the Boogie Rail bridge, as that's what i used with my mexican standard strat.

how do you like the boogie rail?
Compared to the vintage style trem: absolutely amazing.
It'll never be a Floyd, but using it is a joy, and returning to pitch is great but not perfect most of the time.  It'll go through a couple Van Halen songs before you'll need to adjust the tuners.
I coupled it with Graph Tech saddles, a Tusq XL nut, and Schaller locking tuners.
