I regularly surf the parts sites, and often there's something that catches my eye. "Oooh, pretty." and then on my way. But every now and then there is a piece that just grabs me and won't let go. This neck was sitting in the Screamin' Deals. Unbelievable! Every dimension perfect, and look at the grain pattern. Just beautiful.

I started thinking about that neck and what would really work with it. Here's the concept that I dreamt up.

I found a nice Swamp Ash body in Surf Green with satin finish from the Screamin' Deals andI was hoping that the color would match the slight green tint that the Luminlay has. That worked out great, as you see. I added some shielding and pulled some SD Full Shred pickups from another Strat that wasn't getting used. I also had a Gotoh 510 bridge that a friend gave to me for some work that I did on some of his gear. I pulled together a really nice set of black and chrome hardware from the parts box to round it all out.

Threaded inserts are a must...

A quick test fit for the neck before final assembly and set up.

...and Voila!

Plays great and is going straight into the lineup. Going to give it it's first run tonight.
