Surf Green Half-Moth

I've always wanted a surf green Tele, and a guitar with the Ghost system. This body popped up on Warmoth's site ready to ship and I purchased it right away along with a Ghost system and saddles. I decided to pair it with a tortoise shell pickguard, some Dimarzios I had lying around and the neck from my first Tele.

Nice.  I did a Tele with GraphTech piezo saddles and their Ghost system recently and it turned out well.  BTW, did you drilled holes for the saddles wires to go through the Wilkinson Tele bridge plate ?  Looks really neat.

My tech did, I don't have the appropriate tools and patience to do something so neat (but Calculus and Abstract Algebra are fine :dontknow:). He really did a clean job on that bit.

Good job!

I am inspired by the name - envy - I think I gotta have a piezo saddle set on something now.

Thanks, other than having a bad board in my first kit and one of my saddles having a bad piezo crystal it's not been a bad experience. Graphtech has been really on top of things as far as getting replacements out to me, but there is a nest of wires under that pickguard.

Ah, I didn't see it.  I didn't know he could do cutout stuff like that.  I wonder if he could do the same thing to pickup covers...

I can't speak for him, but I'd say it's a pretty safe guess that if he can chew through 1/16" neck plates, he can make it through the flimsy metal pickup covers are made of.

It's an interesting idea, too. You could get some smooth covers with no holes, have a logo or a name or something cut out, put a colored background behind it, solder it on to a pickup... could be pretty cool.

Mainly in jest, but I thought you were the vintage Fender purist.

I love vintage Fender's, but I'm hoping to go brushed aluminum for the offset I've been designing, I think it would look amazing. And since the beast will have all sorts of modern features, I'm allowing myself plenty leeway in the design process.

I'm actually hoping to pick up one of Dennis Fano's "Sphear" series at some point, those things are amazing. Nothing wrong with those old Fenders, though.
