Superwide the only one wider @ frets 12-22?

Obviously, Superwide necks are wider at 12-22 since the fretboard visibly hangs off of the neck sides. However, what about 1 3/4" nut necks? Are they wider than, say, a 1 11/16" neck from 12-22? Thanks

So you're really not getting a wider flatter board to solo on in the upper registers. The effect is primarily felt in the chording. Right?

Short answer - yes (with respect to mayfly's previous response :laughing7:)

crap, I'm wrong, I just double checked that... there is a bit of extra room up there on the higher frets....

Thanks for following up, man. I know exactly what dimensions I want for the most comfortable guitar most suitable to my playing style. I'm selling a couple of my guitars so I can build one ultimate Warmoth.

I dunno if this is on topic or not. I have been making my own bone nuts. For my most recent tele, I decided I wanted a wider string spacing even though it's got the 1 11/16 width. I ended up getting the exact e - e spacing I have on my 1.75 nut acoustic and the e's are not falling off the edge up there. Problem is I don't really like it or need the extra space, it turns out, so I'm replacing it. It was worth a try though. If you want to try a wide-spaced 1 11/16 nut I'd send it to you for return postage. It is on my tele now, any fender-style neck with flat bottom slot (like W) will work with it. if your frets are really big it might need a bit of a shim, I use 6130. It also needs both string trees behind it because the peghead side is filed to a proper angle and you'll get a bit of buzz w/out trees. Let me know.

tfarny, that's very cool of you. Let me know how much postage will be. We can continue in PM if you like. Thanks!
