'Just installed a Dimarzio Super Distortion S in the bridge position of my Fender Strat, and it sounds pretty darn good.

The full-size Super Distortion has always been too hot for my taste (425mv) but this Strat dual rail version has the basic tone with a bit less power (325mv).

I am using this in combination with two Area 67s.

I could see that with the "S" version and it sensing a more narrow field that it could perhaps have a bit more focus & not sound as hot.  Their specs are pretty spot on usually, so not too much fluctuation, but when you change the magnetic field, it can have noticeable differences.  My old Air Norton "S" sounded not quite as wide and bassy as the full sized humbucker version.

I just swapped out my Chopper and installed a GFS Tru-Coil 10k in the neck, which I really like, but I do think it would be interesting to see a full sized humbucker version of the Chopper.  It really is a nice neck pickup.

I wonder what a Chopper would sound like wired in parallel (neck position).

I had 2 of them, and they always sounded muddy (bridge and neck positions).

In parallel, I think it would sound a tad fatter, ever so slight of an increase in power.  Probably not to your liking since you felt it was muddy in your application.

I'd be curious to have seen a youtube clip of that, I used it for over 5 years and was very pleased.  I have the mids pushed up along with the presence on my Uber settings though, and that amp is known for its increased low end.
