As I am about to embark on ordering for my first two builds let me just say this.......

For ANY Mahogany based body with a Maple top or even just a straight Mahogany body for YEARS I have searched for the perfect pickup set and everytime I have had to settle....

UNTIL NOW!!

Four months now and the Suhr Aldrich pickup set is just the be all end all in my Les Paul and delivers the goods all the time. Put them in a test Strat as well and had the same great results. The price is no different than that of a good Duncan or Di Marzio. On live gigs every player wants to know what I use and how I get the tone I do and I always tell them that besides my fingers my pickup is what sets my Les Paul / Marshall tone apart from everybody on the cover scene trying to cop this tone.

Great for any style of music, don't let the high output of the bridge humbucker scare you because it cleans up in such a beautiful way even on my OD2 channel in Red Mode on my Marshall JVM410 head. The difference is you know when you back down on the bridge or neck volume to clean up your sound and you usually lose a ton of tone and volume? Well here you keep the volume and the further you back off you just clean up more and more. And the decrease and increase is soooooo smooth and gradual.

I feel like it's Christmas every single day!!!

welcome to the forum.
review sounds a little too PR, but glad you found something you like.

The "gain" control with just the volume knob is one of the things I love so much about my Bartolini pickups.  Clean, OD, and high gain all from the same pickup with just a turn of the knob.
