Hey Guys,

I need some suggestions for my third Wartmoth build. (Recent builds: Chambered Mahogany Hardtail Strat/Quilted Maple Neck HSH, San Dimas Style FR Mahogany w. Maple Neck Strat HH)
Now it is time for a Telly. I am thinking about a  hollow carved Top (cream or  vintage white colored) Swamp Ash w. Maple top body.
I am not shure about the Neck, Pick Ups and Hardware Colors. My recent builds have both maple necks (standart thin & wizard). Something different now?

Soundwise it should become an allround Axe with a tendency to fat but hard Jazz/Bebop Sounds like Pat Martino at Neck Pickup. On the  Bridge I prefer a Sound between Classic Rock& Metal. Maybe SD Quarter Pound PUs?

What do you think about an raw Rosewood Neck w. Ebony Fretboard?
Any suggestion for that and the Pickups & Hardware Colors (white or cream body)?
Or maybe I should decide for a completely different concept to achieve the sounds I described?

Sorry for the bad english, I am from Europe/Germany.

Welcome to the forum  :icon_thumright:

Before I suggest anything I have to say that the choice is yours and no-one else's if your not quite sure what looks nice or what you want, instead of people telling you what wood and stuff I think it would be better if people posted pictures of their guitars and see if anything takes your fancy? Or take a look here http://www.warmoth.com/Pages/Gallery.aspx?type=TELE_GUITAR

This is your build; made the exact way you want it. As soon as you know what you want, questions like that are totally obsolete :)

Now thats over with I think you should get an Goncalo alves neck:

With a blue dye body: http://www.warmoth.com/Showcase/ShowcaseItem.aspx?i=pt1933&Body=2&Path=Body

All gold hardware would be nice too :)

Consider a 4-way switch so you can have neck+bridge in both parallel and series. You can even go wild and add phase switching to that ...  :party07:

Thanks elfro89,

yes, I know that it is gonna be my own build.
But - and that`s why I ask - my recent bulilds did not have the look i expcted when ordering. I have not that  "special-feeling" for designing a nice guitar.
In the warmoth gallery are some very nice, and some not so nice guitars. I tend to like a clean guitar look. Rather than an overloaded guitar w. thousands of mixed pickups and switches and stuff.
After reading in this Forum for a while, I realised that there are some people who give extremely good advices for designing a guitar for eyes AND ears.
Some people have an eye for guitardesign...that`s why I asked.

My third Warmoth should be cosmetic and soundwise balanced.
I chose the Body color: white or cream. I don`t think that a plain Maple Fretboard would look as nice as a darker one, or maybe a black ebony one on a bright body. You get my point of view?
Your suggestion with goncalo alves is very interesting. I did not even thaught about that wood.

@Sustainer: Yes, I will take a 4Wayswitch. Thank you. One step closer to the perfect Jazz/Rock-guitar

Allright, there will be this body: http://www.warmoth.com/Showcase/ShowcaseItem.aspx?i=pt1863&Body=2&Path=Body
Neck: elfro`s choice is damn interesting and cool looking. I have to decide between goncalo alves w. pau ferro and an all rosewood neck. What do you guys think, and why?
I am still in need of adequate pickups for the sound I described in my first post.
I´ll take a Gotoh Tele Bridge. Not shure what hardware color...

More advices please... :hello2:

Again, I apologise for my bad english...
