I have an Charvel Model 6 strat from the 80s  :guitarplayer2: :guitarplayer2:  and I am looking to replace the pickups.  The configuration H-S-S set up.  My issue is the route for the two single coils does not have the cut out for the little wing at the bottom or replacement strat pickups.  The route is completely oval.

If you look at this diagram...http://www.dimarzio.com/sites/default/files/diagrams/ft_flange_noflange.pdf
I will not have the space needed for the BLACK area in the photo.  Anyone make pickups that will fit without major surgery?

Thanks

Many Seymour Duncan pickups do not have the flange. Yesterday I saw some instructions for how to undercut a single coil cutout so that the flange will fit without having a big cutout show on top. Let me see if I can find those instructions again.

Thanks...I also found some EMGs that do not have the flange.

I will look at the duncans

most modern style duncans, the custom stuff, if it's not supposed to be a vintage style pup there is a good chance it doesnt have that wing, bill lawrence if they're still available, im sure many more.

I checked out the duncans...may good choices there...even some single coil sized humbuckers.

Thanks...I guess I was in a panic when I went to DiMarzio and only saw the winged models.
