when i built my warmoth jm, i bought a warmoth strat neck for it.

but for the neck to be in line with the (warmoth modified mustang) bridge, it need a bit of shimming in the neck pocket. a thin slice of wood.

would i not have this problem if i bought a warmoth jazzmaster neck?

or in short : is the heel of the jazzmaster neck of greater 'height' than a strat neck?

appreciate any insight.

It is normal to shim the neck in this way on Jags and Jazzmasters.
Even better to consider the small angle neck pocket. (If planning a build)

Both these increase the break angle over the bridge, which is usually way too little on these guitars.
(An old Fender design flaw)

They are the same neck with a slightly different headstock shape.

+1, the only way anything other than the headstock would be different would be a different construction type, but even with that I'm pretty sure the heel is still the same.

what's this? does warmoth offer this as an option?
