Am I the only person that's wanted to put a Strat jack on other guitars?  Any possibility of this being an option in the future?

Call email Warmoth, may be available for an upcharge on a custom order...

You're the first I've heard ask for it, which is a bit surprising to me. I've always thought the angled top plug receptacle was one of Leo's better ideas. More jack plates/bodies/plugs have been destroyed by being located on the perimeter than you can shake a stick at.

I know it's an option on Jazzmaster bodies (I'd suspect Mustangs too).  It's how I'd do it.

I'd like it as an option on edges below the strap button.

Yes, I do! Is that a regular jack plate bent into submission? Or a different part? Seems like that would be an incredibly tough bend on a premade strat jack due to the strength imparted by the bell.

Looks like it is to me...And you'd be suprised at what a hammer can do... :icon_biggrin:

Yes.  Like that, but closer to the button so it doesn't have to be bent as much.
That would probably be mo' better, but would most likely require a little bit extra routing on the back...

Not really.  The oval is done to the depth and footprint of the jack, then a 1/4" channel with long bit is drilled to the existing control cavity.  Is there any extra routing on top route Strat to get it to the control cavity?

That is really nice!  I was just thinking of the top-mounted option but that opens up all kinds of neat ideas.  I'll bet one would fit pretty easily on the lower bout of a V-2.

Just found this with google.  Solves the curve issue but doesn't look as clean.

I've seen it done on V's and Explorer's, the one on that jag sort of defeat's the purpose. Probably would have been better if it wasn't so deep...

ESP did that on some of the GL models, and on the upper wing of the "V".

Jigging for that may take some time, and some trouble shooting at the expense of several bodies.  Might not be a payoff in it just yet, wouldn't be surprised if there'd be a $45+ upcharge for that just to cover labor costs.

My next version of my TFS body will have it in the upper wing, and believe me, it will be a very slow, tedious process because I'll only have one shot at it.

Making a jig first will likely be my first step, using scrap to replicate the curve of the upper wing on my body, then making some sort of Dremel base to work with the jig.

The strat jack isn't as simple as just changing a drill bit size on a side drill.
