strat issue

i have always had this issue with my strat : the high e string is closer to the external edge of the fretboard than its low E counterpart.

i often tend to bar my forefinger while playing some lead runs - and occassionally that pushes the high e string off the fretboard.

i looked at the bridge and and saddles are slightly angled to the right - towards the high E. so the saddles are not in straight alignment with the fretboard. i looked at the holes in the bridge underneath the saddles but all the strings pass through them fine right through the middle.

i'm not exactly sure where the problem is. with the saddles or the position of the bridge (or its underlying holes in the body which makes it out of alignment with the neck?) or the warmoth conversion neck (does it not in some way match the body?).

the body is a late 80's fender mij 58 reissue.

appreciate any insights.

btw at the nut all the strings seem to be equally spaced but as it goes higher the high e string seems to be more towards the edge of the fretboard (than the low E).

also my guitar tech did not think this an issue. but when i insisted suggested that i could try smaller saddles.

could it be the spacing of the nut slots as well? when I put the nut on my strat I made sure to slide it over toward the low E just a hair so the high E was be in a little more. You could also try raising the high e saddle on the outside screw and lower it a little on the inside screw - that will move the string in a little bit.

one tech i went to initially manually cut the grooves on the neck.

maybe he messed up - because i noticed that his hands we shaking so much.

what's the best option for a pre-cut nut for a strat? graphtec?

would this work : http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Graph-Tech-Slotted-TremNut-for-Stratocaster?sku=360450

the weird thing is if i remember my first conversion neck for this strat from warmoth right - neither were the tuner holes drilled nor was the nut slotted.

and i had to take it to some guy whose hands trembled feverishly.
