Spud guitars on Wilde/Bill Lawrence pickups

On my 1st W build (Tele) I used their T48 B and T45 N (Strat) in the build. I have zero previous Tele experience, but to me they sound terrific. I also purchased a set of their Tele Microcoils that I haven't used yet.

I'd love to get one of their humbuckers, but don't understand the sonic differences in the variations of their pups. I know Dimebag from Pantera used the L-500XL, but also know his sound was very compressed and processed. Not sure how the raw pup sounds, and not many Youtube references available.

Example...

Their L-500 and L-90 series comes in a variety of options, but I don't know what those options sound like.

Their website could really use an update with sound comparison samples using the different pup variations.

I have the 500XL and two sets of L-90's 6.0 and 8.0. The L-90 is more tweaked PAF ish and creamy the 500 XL is more like a passive EMG ish thang. I prefer the L-90.

The best noiseless Strat pickups I ever had were L290S for bridge and L290S for neck.
Sadly, you can no longer get the L290S for the neck... they no longer make it and even refuse to do it upon request.

Does more Henry's equate to more output?

Sort of. Higher inductance = more voltage generated by movement in the magnetic field. But it’s not a standalone measurement, just like DCR is not either. How the higher inductance is achieved has an impact, but then you also have to factor in string height and composition, resonant peak and shape… but within pickups of similar design, henries is a useful indicator of higher output and lower reso peak.

And then you send all of this through an amp… there’s a reason pickup influence is spoken about in terms of generalities.

For the L-90's, what effect would higher or lower Henries have on the tone? Becoming very interested in these pups. Are these closer to an A2 or A5 tone?

I think less Henries will be brighter and slightly less out put. However, my personal experience with L-90's is having two sets of 6.0 and 8.0. I am not sure the A2 vs A5 really applies here, though they are A5 mags. Be aware that depending on your pickguard/route you may have to ease the corners a tad as the corners are not as rounded off as say 57 classics.
